Current Paradigms in Augmentation Mammoplasty: Clinical Outcomes, Immunological Complications, and Integrative Therapeutic Approaches

Amalia Tri Utami

ABSTRACT
Augmentation mammoplasty is a high-frequency surgical procedure aimed at breast volume restoration. Despite its prevalence, long-term physiological outcomes remain contingent upon material science, surgical precision, and post-operative biological response. This review provides an exhaustive analysis of implant technologies, the pathophysiology of fibrotic complications including capsular contracture, and the immunological triggers of BIA-ALCL. Crucially, this study introduces an integrative framework, evaluating the potential of traditional herbal interventions—specifically Nigella sativa and Minyak Bulus—in modulating the post-surgical inflammatory cascade. Through a systematic evaluation of current clinical data, we propose a holistic approach to patient management that aligns with both evidence-based medicine and Islamic bioethical principles.
